Frequently Asked Questions

Participants are allowed to run or walk or run AND walk.

Yes, there is a four hour time limit for the Bellin Women’s Half Marathon. This equates to a pace of just over 18 minutes per mile. There is no time limit for the 5K.

A properly trained participant walking slowly but steadily should have no problem maintaining the pace required to reach the finish line in four hours. If you remain on the course, a fatigued runner vehicle will be available for transport.

The half marathon course is entirely on paved surface with the first 7.5 miles on concrete and the last 5.6 miles on asphalt (Fox River Trail). The 5K course is concrete for the first 2 miles, with the last mile on asphalt.

There is no minimum age to participate in this event. Minors are required to be registered by their parent or guardian, and we feel it is up to their best judgment as to whether or not their child is able to participate in the half marathon, two person relay or 5K.

Pets are not allowed on the course. Running with strollers is prohibited but walking with strollers is allowed in the 5K event.

Yes, as long as they know your name, a friend or family member may pick up your packet for you on Friday at the KI Convention Center. There will be race day packet pick up from 6:15 - 7:45 am.

Yes - Just send us an email at BellinWomensHalf@bellin.org with the correct size.

There are no refunds nor can participants switch registration between individual, relay and 5K events - but we are now allowing deferrals to our 2023 event.  If you wish to defer your registration to next year, please contact us at bellinwomenshalf@bellin.org.  All those who defer their registration from the 2022 event to the 2023 event will receive a code for registration by May 1.

Also, individual registrants who would like to transfer their registration to another individual may do so through Sunday, September 26 at midnight. Participants are responsible for finding someone to buy their entry and must handle any financial exchange on their own. After agreeing to the sale/purchase, the seller may initiate a transfer via the link on the front of the event website. They must have their original confirmation number (CLICK HERE) and the buyer’s email address to initiate this process. The buyer will then receive an email enabling them to register. A transfer fee of $10 per individual applies.

The Bellin Women’s Half Marathon and 5K are open to both men and women participants. That said, awards—both age group and overall—will be given to female participants only. If a male is interested in participating in this event to win, get an award, or set a personal record, we would be happy to suggest some other events in the local area that would be better suited for those goals.

Although we do not provide refunds, we will defer your registration until next year.  Those who wish to defer their registration until 2023 should email us at bellinwomenshalf@bellin.org.  You will automatically receive a code for a free registration in 2023 if you defer.

We also allow you to transfer your registration to another person.  To complete this transfer:

  • Go to www.Runsignup.com, and click on your profile (upper right corner)
  • In your profile, click on “Bellin Women’s”
  • Click on “Transfer to Another Runner” on the top right of the page, which will take you to a form.  You will need the person's name and email address.
  • Once the recipient (person you are transferring to) accepts this transfer, you will receive a refund for your registration, less a $10 processing fee.
